NHS and Private Sight Tests

We offer both NHS and private sight tests to our patients.

Using modern technology we can take a clear picture of the health of your eyes, monitoring any small changes over time.

You are eligible for a free NHS sight test if you:

 

  • Are over 60 or under 16
  • Are aged 16-18 and are still in full time education
  • Are sight impaired or severely sight impaired
  • Need complex lenses
  • Have been diagnosed with diabetes or glaucoma
  • Are over 40 and have a family history of glaucoma
  • Are claiming certain benefits

Contact Lenses

No one lens fits all, our opticians can check your vision and recommend any suitable contact lenses that are right for you.

With specially trained staff, we can help fit and teach you about inserting and removing contact lenses.

You can order your contact lenses on a pay as you go basis in-store or over the phone.

CUES Appointments (Community Urgent Eye Services)

We are a registered CUES provider, which means we can offer urgent eye care services to patients. These services include:

  • Red or painful eye or eyelids
  • Recently occurring flashes or floaters
  • Recent and sudden loss of vision
  • Foreign body in the eye.

 

Please note: This service is not an eye test nor does it cover long-standing major eye conditions.

Small Children's Frames (using hospital prescriptions)

Using hospital prescriptions, we offer small children’s frames for all ages.

Our friendly staff can help measure, supply and fit frames to help your children with their vision.

With a range of colours and styles, children can pick glasses that they want to wear.

Children are entitled to Free NHS eye tests up to the age of 16. We happily dispense hospital prescriptions.

Bone Conduction Hearing Specs

We dispense Bone Conduction Hearing Aid Technology. For those that have been recommended from places such as West Park Hospital.

These hearing aids are designed for those people that get infections from in-ear devices.

We can make sure you have the right length and lenses, making sure the conduction is correct on the mastoid bone.
